Cargo Export to USA – Over dimensional
In 2016, Visy managed the transportation of an over-dimensional industrial tank from regional Victoria to Long Beach, Florida, USA
The client required oversized freight to be transported seamlessly from Victoria, Australia to Port Longbeach, USA, including fulfilment of permits, road and ocean freight tasks.
Firstly, Visy completed a comprehensive transportation plan with the help of relevant authorities, mapping out a route survey including every step of the journey from Shepparton to Long Beach.
Visy then needed to ensure the tank was secured safely for transport to avoid any movement or damage on its long journey. The tank was first lifted onto a fit-for-purpose cradle and then secured to flat rack before being shrink wrapped with thick plastic.
Visy’s experienced staff then worked closely with the Port of Melbourne to ensure all customs clearance preparations and paperwork were in order and the tank was safely stowed for ocean shipment.
The client was highly satisfied that the over-dimensional tank arrived in Florida on time with no damage and that all regulatory and export requirements were handled professionally and efficiently by Visy. The project was also completed within the specified budget.
