Visy has long been at the forefront of innovation in beverage PET plastic packaging in Australia for both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage bottles

In 2012, Visy invested $40m in a recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) facility at Smithfield NSW. This plant resulted in significant new opportunities for Visy’s business and clients, including the creation of a 100% recycled PET water bottle, in conjunction with Coles and Schweppes.

Given the sheer volume of PET plastic bottles in circulation at any time, the Smithfield plant and Visy’s resolve to focus on sustainability across its business, has had a significant, positive impact on the environment.
