Visy was recently awarded the Industrial Landcare Award from the Bulimba Creek Catchment Coordinating Committee (B4C) for our genuine leadership on sustainability and involvement with the community on the Gibson Island Rehabilitation Project. Visy has been a big supporter of the project since it commenced in early 2018 and the Pratt Foundation also donated $20,000 to further the work on the Aquarium Passage at Gibson Island.

Team members from Visy Paper and Visy Recycling in Gibson Island, have assisted in planting trees, clearing rubbish and weeds, providing rubbish and recycling bins, as well as delivering Health & Safety inductions.

“It was humbling to hear we are acknowledged as leaders within industry, stepping up to bring other industry on board and truly demonstrating that community, environment and industry can work together in harmony”, said David Roughley, Purchasing Manager at Gibson Island Visy Pulp & Paper Mill.
