Visy signs UN Global Compact
Visy has become a signatory to the UN Global Compact, a strategic policy initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption for the benefit of both businesses and societies around the world.
Being part of the UN Global Compact formalises the fact that Visy is committed to being a corporate participant in the UN’s new Sustainable Development agenda. The Sustainable Development Goals take the idea of genuine sustainability beyond the developing world, into all companies and nations.
Anthony Pratt spoke at the UN Global Compact forum in Melbourne on 20 February, and confirmed that part of Visy’s core rationale has always been an ‘inclusive business’ model – ensuring our operations are sustainable, and continually working to improve the lives of people in our local communities.
Sustainability isn't just a part of Visy; it's fundamental to everything we do - from the products we make, to the way we make them, and our impact on the communities we live in. Our vision is for Visy to be the acknowledged global leader in sustainable manufacturing and environmental technology - for our customers and suppliers, for the communities we serve, and, in the words of our mission statement, “For a Better World”.
